Make a Love New

We live in contentious times.  It's easy for relationships to become frayed, eroded, fractured.  Make a Love New comes from a line in the poem, Homestead, by Justin Carter.  Justin's poem is elegant and deep and concerned with so much more than the times we live in, but when I read it, that particular line captured my imagination.  Can you imagine what a world we could make if we simply rejected the forces that divide us and consciously, intentionally embarked on a mission of making love new in our personal lives, in our families, in our communities, in our nation, and across our planet - love of one another and the lovely marble floating in space that we call home.

Original abstract art by artist Wanda Oliver executed in oil paint and cold wax medium on cradled board, 16x20x1.5", September, 2025.

Wanda is known for her bold designs and harmonious color, and for the fact that her work is based in a spiritual response of joy and gratitude to the world around her.

The surface of the painting is sealed with a layer of buffed cold wax. The sides of the cradled board are waxed, and the board is wired and ready to hang.  The board is designed to accommodate a floating frame, but no frame is necessary.
